My hotel tour in Singapore was not yet complete and I stayed in so many amazing places in this city that I couldn’t believe I was adding another chapter to this great trip. I had never stayed at an Intercontinental Hotel before and I was happy to finally spend some nights in the flagship brand of the IHG Hotels in Singapore. My arrival at the hotel was a bit funny as I was attending a brunch that same day and only made it to the Singapore Intercontinental at around 6pm and yes I was pretty tipsy at that time. Lets say I had just a little bit too much champagne that afternoon and when I was checked-in at the Club Lounge I was offered some more! :)
Location Intercontinental Bugis
Of course the location is also 5 star with everything within walking distance like nightlife, shopping malls, touristy things, business district, etc. The hotel actually has an extra entrance in the Bugis Junction Shopping Mall and is therefore also called the Intercontinental Bugis. I think the area is renown for being the Art district with famous tourist streets like Arab Street and Bali Lane just around the corner!
Singapore Intercontinental rooms
I got upgraded to a suite and guess which one I got to see with my own eyes? Yes the Presidential Suite! All the way at the top floor spread over one side of the hotel with a total of 6 rooms, complete with a business center, a sauna, living room, an office, lounge room and many more amazing features.
All the rooms are recently refurbished and you can see that they thought about details with electricity plugs everywhere, sound systems and all these electrical features. There was a smartphone provided with free 4G internet and free local calls, which you were allowed to take out of the hotel. The modern features are perfectly combined with the colonial interior and I really liked the warm colours of the suite. The super comfy bed was huge and so was the sofa where I fell asleep one night! :)
The lounge at Intercontinental Singapore
From the moment I checked in until the moment I checked out I was mostly hanging out in the Lounge at Intercontinental Singapore. It was like my office with amazing service. I literally had to catch up on work a lot so I hung out there and the girls treated me so nice and fantastic that I completely forgot to go to the Olive Tree Restaurant in the evening. The next day I had the same issue and did not want to move. I hung out from the early morning getting served a delicious breakfast, I seriously love luxury hotel lounges and that is why I devoted a complete post about it with my best breakfast photos with a view. Later on the wine was equally good and the delicious treats that were constantly brought to me were the best. There was no reason for me to leave! I literally spent my days at the lounge at the Intercontinental Singapore.
Facilities
There is a spacious and ok-equipped fitness center on the 3th floor and a pool on the 4th floor. The pool has some nice urban views, but is not the most amazing place to hang out, though there is fast Wi-Fi around what makes up for that. The modern fitness changing rooms have a sauna, which is set to 90 degrees and are all open 24 hours, perfect service!
Service
As said I worked in the lounge and completely forgot to go to my restaurant reservations. The big smile the girls served the food and drinks with was captivating. The hotel also took care of my laundry. I actually asked my butler to find a laundry service around Singapore that accepted half my bag of clothes and a place that would charged me per kilo rather than per piece. They finally came up with another solution, an even better one! Thanks a lot!
Review Singapore Intercontinental Bugis
It was a pleasure to spend some nights in the amazing suite of this city hotel. The super friendly staff totally made my stay a memorable one. From breakfast in the early morning in the fantastic hotel lobby that looks like a ballroom until late night drinks in the Club Lounge, I really enjoyed my stay!
