With Singapore being one the worlds densest countries it might seem hard to get away from the bustling city. Recently I planned a trip to this city and was looking for the best places to stay in Singapore, but a little bit away from the city. I ended up in W Sentosa Cove on Sentosa Island.

Location W Sentosa Cove

Located on Sentosa Island the W Singapore can not be seen as a city hotel at all. Singapore is only 15 minutes away by taxi and Uber is pretty affordable in Singapore. There are also public transport opportunities to get to the main land, the metro system is super convenient and the Sentosa Sky train is even free, but a little away from the hotel. The area around the resort is super quiet and perfect for early morning walks. The Sentosa Marina is just next to the hotel and therefore some very nice restaurants and bars are around. In the evening I had a drink at One 15 just 5 minutes walk away with great views over the Marina.

Room W Singapore

I was lucky enough to be upgraded to the Suite on the 5th floor. An absolutely amazing room! The moment I walked in I was welcomed by the Bose sound system which was playing some funky beats, exactly like I expected form the W brand. As soon as I was alone I turned up the bass! The suite was fully equipped with huge flat screen televisions, mini bar, complimentary snacks and drinks, a charging station to charge all your electronic devices.

All around the suite had floor-to-ceiling windows and the views over the marina, the portthe resort and the pool were exceptionally. My suite was located on the top floor and therefore there was nothing that was obstructing my 270 degrees view. The balcony came with a sunbed for two people that was so big that you could not move it around although the balcony was pretty big.

From the bed the views were equally impressive, I did not close the curtains when I went to sleep. The suite has a separate living room, extra toilet, walk in closet and a stylish bathroom with a fabulous bathtub. Taking a bath at sunset is a must of course with the some good music blasting from your soundsystem! Yeah I had a really good time enjoying my suite at W Sentosa Cove.

Facilities W Singapore

The gym and the swimming pool are open 24h, something I really like. In a lot of hotels the pool closes at night. An amazing feature and something I had never seen yet were the colourful floating beanbags in the huge swimming pool; way more comfortable than an airbed! The resort also hosts a pool party every first Sunday of the month, unfortunately I just missed it!

During my stay at the W Singapore I was offered a smartphone equipped with 4G and free calls. I was allowed to take it out of the resort as well, something of course is an excellent service. There is no need to use your roaming data or buy a local SIM card and it worked really well.

Bar/Restaurants

I only ate at the resorts buffet restaurant The Kitchen Table. By the time I was in the resort the restaurant was pretty empty and therefore lacked atmosphere a bit. The variety of food was excellent and the seafood was delicious, so were the Indian choices selected by the Indian chef. The luxury breakfast was W style delicious, check all my luxury hotel breakfast photos in this link.

Review W Sentosa Cove

The chic and modern vibe is totally my thing, a W Hotel always has that laid-back atmosphere perfectly combined with style. It was another W experience that I can add to my list of probably one of my favourite hotel chains.

Check out how much it cost to take a bath with this view!
