    Whatever time of year it is, I’m a real nature and outdoor fan. I love to be outdoors and explore new and familiar places. Being stuck at home because of a global pandemic has made me go out and enjoy nature even more.

    I go out for a descent walk a few times a week in the forests and hills of South Limburg in the Netherlands. We had a long and pretty warm Autumn, but now that Winter has kicked in, my windproof softshell jacket and thin hiking trousers are no longer sufficient.

In February 2020 I traveled to Alberta in Canada to experience the city of Edmonton, Lake Louise, Banff and Jasper National Park in winter and participated in all kinds of winter activities from snowboarding to ice climbing and spotting wildlife in Alberta. Since it can get very cold in Canada in winter with freezing temperatures from -5 to -30 degrees Celsius (23 to -22 F), it’s necessary properly to pack for winter travel. Warm clothes to wear in extreme cold weather conditions, not only in Canada, but this winter packing list can basically be used for all countries with these cold temperatures.
