There are so many 5 star resorts in Maldives that it is hard to choose the right one and I can understand that everyone thinks that all resorts are the same, but nope that is a complete misunderstanding! First of all not all resorts are 5 star, second biggest mistake is that all Maldives resorts have over water bungalows. I once stayed at Soneva Fushi, one of the most luxurious resorts in Maldives, but they have no overwater villas. Then there are the all-inclusive resorts (check out Adaaran Club Rannalhi for example) or those that are very exclusive and most people are unable to afford.
Resorts near Male International Airport
As already mentioned in previous blogs there are hardly any resorts in Maldives with free airport transfers. As part of your booking you will need to book an airport transfer and these are not cheap. To keep these costs as low as possible you need to either search for resorts with free airport transfers or look for resorts near male international airport. There are a couple islands to visit near Male with over water bungalows that do not charge that much for the 10-20 minutes boat transfer and one of them is Adaaran Prestige Vadoo.
Adaaran Prestige Water Villas
A couple weeks ago I was invited for the World Travel Writers’ Conference organized by Maldives TV and I was hosted in one of the Adaaran Prestige Water Villas for 1 night.
This resort island is not only one of the best all inclusive resorts close to Male but it is also one of those islands in Maldives with a bioluminescent beach. Where is the sea of stars in Maldives? Adaaran Prestige Vadoo is one of them but let me enlighten you; this is a rare and unpredictable sight! If you are coming to see the bioluminescent beach in Maldives then you gotta be really lucky! A week later I came back to this resort to spend more time here and enjoy their incredible water bungalows close to Male.

Adaaran Prestige Vadoo day trip
The resort is all about its over water bungalows and the island itself only contains two restaurants, a dive center, an old gym, a picture perfect beach and a very standard pool. The sea around the island is gorgeous and there are plenty opportunities to snorkel and that is one of the reasons daytrips from Male to Adaaran Prestige Vadoo are popular.
At first I was skeptic about this concept but as a guest it didn’t bother me at all. As the island itself is not really worth going during your stay in one of the overwater villas I stayed in and around my bungalow all the day apart from the times I went to the restaurant to eat.
The water around the Adaaran Prestige water villas is so perfect that there is no reason to leave at all and therefore I think this resort is perfect for those people who come to the Maldives the first time and want to experience how it is to stay a couple nights in an overwater villa. The island is one of those resorts near Male and perfect for 2 nights.

Adaaran Prestige Vadoo Water Villas
The villas are pretty much side-by-side but still offer complete privacy because of the walled balconies. Of course people are able to swim in front of your bungalow so still be careful what you are doing on your spacious patio that includes a private pool.
The over water villas are very spacious and all include a glass floor bathroom that looks into the water below plus there is a big Jacuzzi.
There is a window above the bed that can be opened completely, which gives the bathroom an even bigger feel. The floor to ceiling glass doors to the patio can be opened all the way as well which make it possible you can run from your bed straight into the ocean.
Adaaran Prestige review
The Adaaran Prestige Vadoo water villas are the ideal location for those people coming to the Maldives for only a couple days and want to stay in a resort near Male International Airport. The value for money for the over water villas is great, the price level is moderate, the experience is amazing!
I would definitely recommend this resort if staying in an over water bungalow for 1 or 2 nights is something you have been dreaming of and you don’t want to spend too much money. The all inclusive package makes it easy to predict what you will spend during your stay. The offered beverages and choice of food is very nice. I loved drinking my Coronas for sunset and watching the fish feeding seeing big sharks, stingrays and huge tunas fighting for a little snack. I had a great time!
