Best location to stay in Bangkok

For me there are two favourite areas to stay in Bangkok. The best location to stay in Bangkok is Silom. Around this area you will find all you need, plus is it not that extremely busy as the central areas Sukhumvit and Siam Square. Shopping malls, nightlife, street food, local markets and great hotels are all around.

For a lot of people though Sukhumvit is the best area to stay in Bangkok. Yes it is definitely a convenient location as it is close to all the hustle and bustle but it can be very crowded and traffic is horrendous. If you choose to stay in this area I would recommend using public transport rather than a taxi.

Wherever you decide to go on your Thailand holiday, I would always include Bangkok. It is a unique city with many places to see and things to do.

Sofitel So Bangkok

If you are looking for the best hotel pool in Bangkok look no further. I am totally in love with the amazing view over the city at the Sofitel So. The hotel is located right next to the Lumprini Park and a room with park view is highly recommended. The impressive skyline as seen from the lobby, restaurant, sky bar, pool and your room makes it all complete. Rooms are ultra modern and you can choose from 4 different room types created with the elements Wood, Metal, Water and Earth. The best poolparty in Bangkok is held in the pool of the Sofitel So Bangkok.

W Bangkok

The W Hotel in Bangkok is a great place to spend your days if you feel like getting pampered in style. The W chain is a synonym for a perfect mix of eclectic vibes and ultimate luxury. Their slick room interior will blow you away and views from the room are stunning, see my timelapse in the following article:

Their wellness options are splendid with a great spa plus a huge and modern fitness studio. The outdoor pool has a modern design and in weekends a DJ plays funky tunes. I went to the pool around midday and did not leave until after sunset, incredible vibe, cool people and delicious cocktails. The W hotel Bangkok serves the best breakfast in Bangkok and even if you are not staying here it is worth to go here for breakfast.

The Le Meridien Silom is a very modern and artistic place to spend your nights. Located right in the heart of Silom the hotel has the perfect location. Bustling streets, local markets, street food and nightlife is just around the corner and the famous Patpong Nightmarket is only 50m away as well. Rooms are very comfortable and quiet, a good night sleep is guaranteed. For exquisite service you are at the right place in Le Meridien Silom.

2. Hotels in Sukhumvit

Westin Grand Sukhumvit

luxury hotel bangkok4

The Westin may sounds a bit boring but staying here was a very positive surprise and is definitely listed as one of my favourite hotels in Bangkok. Right in the middle of all the hustle and bustle in Sukhumvit where all the action takes place. Shopping malls, nightlife and everything you expect to see in Bangkok can be found right on your doorstep.

The beds of the Westin Grand Sukhumvit were extremely comfortable and one of the better hotel beds I ever slept in. Their breakfast has sushi on demand, at least I asked for it and I got it! Their Japanese restaurant Kisso is among the best ones in Bangkok. The Westin is a perfect choice if you are looking for hotels in Sukhumvit.
