After two lovely nights in the Alisea Boutique Hotel in Ao Nang I switched hotels and checked in at the Aonang Cliff Beach Resort on the other side of the town. The hotel arranged a pick-up and at 10.30am sharp there was an air-conditioned mini van waiting outside the hotel to escort me to my new Ao Nang hotel.
Hotel review Aonang Cliff Beach Resort
I did not have to look after my suitcase as the friendly driver took care of it. I was brought to the upper reception desk and was welcomed with a refreshing mango juice and a cold towel. During the check-in process my luggage was already transferred to my room and after I filled out the form, I was picked up by a driver who guided me to my room. It was the first time ever I saw a normal car with all the doors taken out. It was like a golf cart with the appearance of normal car. Looked funny!

Location of the Aonang Cliff Beach resort
Set against the backdrop of a lush green hill, the Aonang Cliff Beach Resort offers spectacular panoramic views of the Andaman Sea. The resort is located right in the heart of Ao Nang village about 500 meters from the beach. As there is not really any hotel located on the beach this is the perfect location. The rooms are nestled in the cliffs high above the bustling touristy streets of Ao Nang village and therefore perfect to enjoy peace and serenity. Shopping, dining and nightlife is just steps away from the hotel exit.
Rooms Aonang Beach Cliff Resort
I was lucky enough to get a room up in the newly added Panorama Suites Wing. Upon entering the room I was first of all stunned with the spacious interior. The 45sqm room with a huge king-size bed, a big love seat/lounger and a glass walled bathroom had spectacular views over the Andaman Sea and its limestone cliffs. The perfect view to wake up to! The Panorama Suite comes with a whole list of features and all amenities you can think of like a rain shower, big flat screen TV, espresso machine, sounds system and even a pillow menu. But on top of all that the coolest feature is the bathtub on your private balcony. I was totally in love with the room and actually had no need to leave this place. The only thing the resort could work on is the Wi-Fi. The connection sometimes dropped and it was not really high speed.
Panoramic Pool Aonang Beach Cliff Resort
Of course I enjoyed my time in my room but staying in the Panorama Wing you can impossible miss the fantastic infinity pool with gorgeous views over Ao Nang and its surrounding islands. It is the best infinity pool in Ao Nang, it might be even the best infinity pool in Krabi! The on site pool bar makes delicious fruit shakes and strong cocktails. It’s a perfect spot to grab a Long Island Ice Tea and watch the sunset. Actually there is another pool a couple floors lower, not the panoramic views like the infinity pool but with the huge limestone cliffs in the backdrop worth checking out as well!
Private beach club Andamana Ao Nang
The hotel also offers a less-touristy beach experience. Spend some time at the Andamana Beach Club and you know what I am talking about. The hotels friendly driver will drop you at their private beach club about 10-min away from the hotel, transportation is complimentary. Enjoying lonely walks on a deserted beach and sipping cocktails in a hammock underneath a palm tree then this is the place to be! See here more info about the best beaches in Krabi.
Best breakfast in Ao Nang
As I am not a morning person I love to sleep till late, but in the Aonang Cliff Beach Resort I loved getting up early and head to the buffet breakfast. It was the best breakfast on my Thailand island hopping trip this time. There was literally everything you can think of! Apart from the standard pineapple and watermelon there were about 5 other fruits to choose from and on top of that a whole selection of dried fruits, nuts, granola and cereals, different types of yoghurt, cut fruit salad and so on. I also have to mention the great selection of bread, all the different pastries, including brownies, 5 different warm dishes, banana pancakes, etc. It is for sure mouthwatering and even if you don’t stay in this resort it is worth coming here for breakfast! I actually don’t know if that is possible, but it is worth a try!
Review Aonang Cliff Beach Resort
The staff went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy with my stay. All the workers spoke very good English and I was greeted with a big smile every time I walked in and out.
I would totally recommend the Aonang Cliff Beach Resort for your stay in Ao Nang, Krabi. See if you can get a room in the Panorama Suite Wing. It is all brand new and recently opened. The panoramic pool is a photogenic spot and offers the best views of Ao Nang. The rooms are modern, spotless and spacious and the included buffet breakfast is world class!
Ao nang Cliff Beach Resort is one of the best resorts in Ao Nang and definitely the place with the most incredible pool and view over the nearby islands. Check out Asia's most popular hotel booking website for this 4 star property and find the lowest rates for less than $75 per night.
Also check out my review of their sister hotel in Ao Nang if you have a slightly smaller budget: Alisea Boutique Hotel! Where to go after Krabi? What about Chiang Mai? Did you know that flying there from Krabi is only around $50. Check all my Thailand transportation tips in this link.
