Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy and a very popular holiday destination in Northern Italy. It is located half way between Brescia and Verona and right in between Milan and Venice, on the edge of the Dolomites.
In Summer Lake Garda is normally extremely crowded, as it is a popular holiday destination for many people, not just Italians. With a worldwide pandemic, and still many travel restrictions in place, we thought this would be the perfect time to visit Lake Garda and avoid the numbers of tourists that normally visit this famous Italy tourist destination. It turned out to be a pretty good decision.
About Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise
Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise is a brand new resort, which opened its doors to the public in March 2019. I didn’t know it was that new, but staying at the resort it just shows, so when I asked how old this resort was and they said ‘just over a year’, that made sense.
This luxury resort is located near the famous and popular Lake Garda, and just outside the town of Lazise. This 5 star spa hotel is the perfect place for travelers who love lifestyle, luxury and the Italian Dolce Vita. Modern architecture with large glass fronts, a panoramic restaurant with a convertible roof, a luxury spa area and a skypool with extensive views of Lake Garda, this resort offers it all. Their Mediterranean garden includes a sports pool, children’s pool and a large natural swimming lake with cabana’s.
Upon check in you’re provided with a refreshing towel (like on a flight) to fresh up a little after a long or short trip to Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise.
After we checked in we were given a voucher for an aperitif at the bar, located between the lobby and the outdoor sports pool. A very sweet welcome for sure. We also handed in the car key to the front desk employee. Our car was driven to the parking garage and our luggage was delivered to our room, amazing service!
Suite Oliva
The luxury and elegant design of the resort continues into the 58 suites, yes they’re all suites! We were given Suite Oliva, located on the ground floor of the hotel, with a terrace and amazing garden access. The room has a large king-size bed, a lounge with another sofa bed, being able to host 2-4 people. The bathroom is very large, with a special feature, the magic mirror!
Wait what did I mention there? A magic mirror? Yes that’s right! How it works? You connect your phone via Bluetooth to the mirror in the bathroom, select your favorite music and press play! Easy as that, but one of the coolest features ever!
There is also quite a large outdoor space belonging to Suite Oliva, offering a seating area, a large lounge bed and two loungers.
Pools
Like any great resort, the Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise comes with plenty of pools. There are three pools to be precise, a sports pool, with an indoor and outdoor part, a natural pool and an infinity pool on the top floor of the hotel, offering amazing views of Lake Garda.
Connected to the large sports pool there is this cascading relaxing place with loungers in the water, and you can actually turn on the whirlpool for a more relaxing experience.
Next to these pools there’s also a kids pool, with several slides as well, fun for both young and old.
ONDA Spa
After a long and active day in the Dolomites, around Lake Garda or spending it at the pools, it’s time for a well-deserved relaxed break.
At the -1 level of the hotel you’ll find the ONDA spa, where you can relax and have plenty of treatments. You can have your hair, nails, face and body done here. On the same floor you’ll find a shop with lots of home deco stuff to take home as a souvenir. There’s also a shop with a wide range of beauty products and a selective range of Quellenhof products for you to take home.
They have an adult and a family spa area. The family area is for families with kids. In the adult area kids are not allowed, it’s the nudist area. It has saunas, a cold plunge pool and a Turkish steam bath.
This area also offers plenty of relax spots, from areas where phones are not allowed, purely relaxation, to relaxed loungers. Juices, water, fruits and nuts are available. Just sit back and relax is my advice.
Gourmet
A resort is not a luxury resort without excellent culinary spots, and this hotel definitely has it all! To start they have an onside bistro, it’s the place to be for a la carte lunch between 12pm and 5pm. Bistro La Piazza is located next to the outdoor area and the large sports pool, a very relaxed spot to have your lunch.
Your stay comes with half board, which means breakfast and dinner are included. This comes as a rich breakfast buffet and a classy six course dinner, you’re truly getting pampered here! The food here is outstanding and of very high quality, a feast every evening!
Both breakfast and dinner are served at the panoramic restaurant on the top floor of the hotel. It offers stunning views of the property and Lake Garda.

Here at Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise there is also a huge wine cellar. Upon request you can have a short tour here and be told all about the cellar and the wines. The wines from the cellar are used for the restaurant and bar, but you can also buy wine here in case you find anything you like.
Next to the Panoramic Restaurant, on the rooftop you’ll find the Tiki Bar, also next to the rooftop pool. This bar is open from 3-8pm. My recommendation: watch the sunset from up here over Lake Garda and be pampered with exotic cocktails. On Fridays the Tiki Bar is open till late and they also have live music. A great night out without leaving the resort, thumbs up!
Sister Hotel day trip: Quellenhof Luxury Resort Passeier
There is another Quellenhof Resort in South Tyrol: Quellenhof Luxury Resort Passeier. You can arrange a day trip to this other resort and enjoy their spa and pools for the day, and enjoy the surrounding mountains.
This resort also offers it all, a large aqua family park, sports and leisure activities, a private golf course, riding arena with paddock and 20 horses, and of course the best food, wellness, spa and pools!
Lazise
We loved Lazise, but mainly because it was not as busy as it would normally be. The narrow streets, restaurants and shops, it’s just lovely.
We also tried to visit Sirmione, but never made it to this little town, because it was that busy, in Corona times! There were police roadblocks to keep cars out of town, just too busy. Don’t want to think about visiting this place during a ‘normal’ Summer.
Looking to visit the lovely and beautiful Lazise while staying at the Resort? Leave your car at the resort because the hotel has a private shuttle service to and from the town of Lazise. Whenever you want to go, go to the front desk and the driver will bring you to Lazise. Want to come back to the resort? Just give the front desk a call and they will pick you up again. Too easy right!
With endless Lake Garda views from the Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise we ended up not leaving the resort, and not exploring Lake Garda. We only visited the small quaint town of Lazise on our departure day.
Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise Review
Something unique that I hadn’t seen before was a Corona anti body test this resort offers, to find out if you had the virus or not. Want to find out? This anti body test will cost you 50 euro to find out!
Want to explore the region and you don’t have transportation? At Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise you can rent cars, bikes, red vespa’s and even a tuk-tuk. Whatever transportation you’re looking for, the resort offers it all! And soon at this resort, there will be a heli platform too!
As mentioned before, this is a rather new resort, so they’re still expanding. Sports fields to play tennis and a soccer pitch coming soon...
As a guest at this resort you’re the crew’s and employees number one priority. It’s all about giving you the best stay possible. Something I had never seen before for example is they offer hot water bottles. So in case you get cold feet at night, just ask reception and they fix a hot water bottle for you, so clever.
Upon check out we were given a last small surprise, a jar of Mediterranean herbs, to get cooking at home like they do at the Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise.

From Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise everything is within reach and easily accessible, yet the resort is located tucked away and quietly. Just an hour away from the resort you can visit the beautiful city of Verona, full of history, or go shopping in Milan. A little bit further, but still worth a day trip is Venice. And what about the Dolomites which are just a stone throw away from the resort. The most perfect location for this resort, make Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise your base when visiting this area.
