Dinner in the Sky is a culinary and spectacular international concept that allows you to have dinner 50 meter (165 ft) above the ground. It is one of those crazy unique things to do in Dubai and we got to experience it for you and write about it. This is our blog with a complete review about Dinner in the Sky Dubai.
How it all started
Like many other great inventions, Dinner in the Sky started as a crazy idea, almost unimaginable that it could actually become reality. It started back in 2006 in Belgium, when a communication agency, specialized in gourmet pleasures, and the Fungroup, a company specialized in amusement park installations deploying cranes, joined forces and made the impossible possible! The idea of Dinner in the Sky was born.
15 Years later it’s still running and Dinner in the Sky has crisscrossed the skies of over 70 countries. In Europe, but also in Australia, Japan, Brazil, United States, China and of course Dubai where we were able to experience it ourself for the first time!
The concept
Over the past 15 years, Dinner in the Sky has arranged more than 5000 events in cities ranging from Paris to Las Vegas, from Sydney to Cape Town and from Dubai to Sao Paulo. Wherever the event takes place, they’re one of a kind!
It’s all in the name really, it’s dinner in the sky, and it will be your most unique dinner experience ever. Btw it is a great Dubai activity for a surprising date-night! Top chefs prepare the dishes at a height of 50 meters right in front of you. Meanwhile, you get to enjoy a unique scenery and enjoy luxurious dining while seeing Dubai from above.
It is not as high as At the Top Experience on Burj Khalifa, but trust me 50 meters is very high when you look down. It is not for the faint-hearted!
From Belgium to Dubai
Dinner in the Sky set foot in Dubai in 2019, and has chosen a truly amazing location! Located right next to Skydive Dubai and Zero Gravity Restaurant, you can’t miss the large crane that is the setting for Dinner in the Sky UAE.
This prime location gives you breathtaking views of Dubai Marina and the new Bluewaters Island and Ain Dubai. The Dubai Marina skyline by night is truly impressive, and be aware, you might just forget to eat in between all that excitement.
Lunch and Dinner
In Dubai you can enjoy a one of a kind lunch or dinner experience while gazing at the Dubai Marina Skyline from an altitude of 50 meters (165 ft) high. There are six sessions a day, three lunches and three dinners.
Lunch and dinner are three course, and you must indicate your choice for each course in advance. You can find the menu choices on the Dinner in the Sky Dubai website.
Drinks are included, but no alcohol! Juices, still and sparkling water and soft drinks, as much as you want. The delicious lunch and dinner meals are catered from the Le Meridien Mina Seyahi and the Westin Mina Seyahi Marina. Some amazing hotels in Dubai.

Review of the full experience
It all starts when you arrive at the location. You enter Dinner in the Sky and are welcomed by two lovely hostesses. They will check you in for your next adventure, the dinner of a lifetime 50 meter (165 ft) above the ground.
After you are checked in you receive the Dinner in the Sky passport, make sure you keep that safe, as you need it later on. The passport states your menu choices and you will hand it in to the waiter once you have found your seat.
The location provides lockers for your bags and belongings, as you can imagine, you can’t take them up with you. Whatever you decide to take with you, make sure you hold everything tight, because once it falls, it’s gone.
There are welcome drinks at the entrance for you to enjoy, and in the outside area, next to the crane you will find some great photo opportunities. Once the table is ready for its next flight, everyone is gathered and they start with a short safety briefing.
Don't worry in the 15 years Dinner in the Sky is now operating there has never been recorded a Dinner in the Sky accident. There is a very professional organization behind this concept and safety measurements are taken extremely serious.
After the safety briefing everyone is taken one by one to their seat at the table, and fastened. Once everyone is seated your bucket list experience can finally start, the countdown starts and you will be taken to a height of 50 meters, and that’s with fireworks too!
The seats can rotate, so you can enjoy the views all around, and they can even be folded back, for the real dare devils! Again, Dinner in the Sky is more than a dining experience, this is actually another one of those thrilling things to do in Dubai.
In addition to the two chefs, there are also two hosts on board, and they are there for you, for refilling your drinks, but also for taking that unique photo. For that insta-perfect shot they also have special text boards, for example with the lyrics ‘Date Night Done Right’ and ‘Couple Goals’.
How much does Dinner in the Sky Dubai cost?
The price for this unique Dubai experience varies, and it depends on whether you’re having lunch or dinner, and on weekdays or weekends. Lunch on weekdays costs about 164 USD per person, while dinner on weekdays costs 191 USD per person.
On weekends lunches are 191 USD and dinners are 218 USD per person. It might not be the cheapest thing to do in Dubai, but we think it was worth every penny and it’s something you will never forget.
Now 2 Dinner in the Sky tables
In October 2021 Dinner in the Sky Dubai announced a second crane has been placed and the capacity has therefore been doubled to 44 seats. There are now two Dinner in the Sky tables, so it gives you more chance to score a spot at this highly sought-after Dubai activity.
