My main reason for visiting Australia's Northern Territory was to visit Australia's largest national park. Just to give you an idea of how big Kakadu national park is, it is about 1/3 of the size of Tasmania , nearly half the size of Switzerland and equally-sized to Slovenia. Kakadu scenic flights are therefore one of the best ways to see Kakadu National Park.
Before arriving in Perth I had travelled the west coast of Australia, where you’ll hardly find any hotels, so my accommodation for over 2 weeks consisted mainly of self-contained units. Arriving in Perth I really needed a good hotel offering a good bed, a decent shower and breakfast. The Crowne Plaza in Perth exceeded every expectation I had.
Nowadays there is a lot of discussion on zoo’s and animals living in captivity. Let me be clear, I’m in favour of animals living in their natural habitat. It’s not really my place to weigh in on this discussion. Animals in the Croccove in Darwin live there in good conditions and are very well taken care of. In this blog I will extensively review of the Cage Of Death.
Since I got a bunch of shit for writing a kind of negative article about things that I don’t like about Australia, I figured it was time to spread some positive feedback on my adventure travel blog about this lovely country. Of course I do not hate Australia and yes I loved living in Sydney on my working holiday visa in 2017. Plus I had a really great time on my 3 month trip Down Under in 2009. Therefore I came up with this new blog post to spread some love.
Australia is the dream of many travelers and therefore I know that there will be a lot of people not sharing my opinion, but I cant help it. When I was younger I always wondered what it would be like to live in Australia. Why? I actually don’t really know. I think because it was so damn far away from Europe I’d always been super excited to travel Down Under. Australia attracts travelers from all over the world and yes they definitely offer some amazingly unique experiences like kangaroo’s, the Opera House, koalas, endless beaches, the Great Barrier Reef, etc. The best places to see in Australia are fabulous and there are tons of other reasons to love Australia, yet still it is not my favourite country!
I have stayed in many city hotels before and it is hard to really impress me, but what you will find in the Shangri La Sydney is unrivalled. When I pull out my phone straight away to keep my followers on Snapchat up to date about what I am doing it means I am excited. I want to give them a share of what I am experiencing. When I walked into the Club Lounge of the Shangri La Sydney first thing I did was taking out my phone…
How is it possible that you are saving money while living in one of the worlds most expensive cities? I got that question a lot after I decided to work and live in Australia’s capital for a couple months. Where there is a will there is a way and you don’t have to live extremely sober to pile up some cash, but you will need a little common sense. Let me tell you my story how I saved money living in Sydney.

Constantly I see young people getting excited when this topic pops up, but what is the reality behind the Australian Dream? Is the working holiday visa for Australia really that amazing or can you easily be disappointed?
Almost 2 years ago I was somewhere in Austria driving around in my car. It was the end of the winter season and I had been snowboarding for more than 3 months at that time. Temperatures were going up and snow conditions going down. I didn’t know exactly what to do until I randomly called with a friend living in Sydney…
Welcome to Australia, welcome to Sydney! Now the big question: where to stay in Sydney? Of course there are many amazing suburbs, but just like in any other metropolis it is hard to pick the right one. Some may tell you to stay in Bondi, some prefer the city center and others like the Northern Beaches. Difficult decision I totally understand!
