Itinerary - Trip Overview
Dates: October 3 – October 12, 2025
This 10-nights group trip will showcase the best of Venezuela's natural beauty and cultural highlights. From city life to untouched wilderness to turquoise Caribbean waters, we managed to pack it all into one incredible itinerary.
Here's a quick rundown:
Day 1: Arrival in Caracas
Welcome to Venezuela! You'll be greeted at the airport and transferred to our hotel in Caracas. It's a free day to relax, explore a bit, and shake off the travel fatigue.
Lunch and dinner on your own - meals are very affordable in Caracas and we know the best spots.
Day 2: Exploring Caracas
We'll dive into Venezuela's bustling capital with a full day of sightseeing. Expect to visit historical gems like Plaza Bolívar, Simón Bolívar's birthplace, the National Pantheon, and the grand National Congress. We'll also stop by the bohemian Fine Arts district and take in the views from Ezequiel Zamora Park.
Breakfast included. Lunch and dinner on your own.
Day 3-6: Journey to Canaima and Angel Falls
We take a domestic flight from Caracas to Canaima National Park, a dream destination for many. Here, ancient tepuis (rock formations/hills) rise dramatically from the jungle, and rivers carve the landscape.
We'll stay in a beautiful lodge surrounded by nature for four nights, with paddleboarding, kayaking, and excursions to Sapo and Hacha Falls.
The highlight? An overnight trip to see Angel Falls, the world's tallest waterfall (979 meters)! It's an unforgettable experience to witness this natural wonder up close.
There will be a free day for optional activities. A very popular activity is a helicopter tour of Angel Falls. It is a 3 hour tour that brings you to the top of the Angle Falls, but mind you this tour is expensive as they charge around $3,900 USD for the tour and there are only 6 spots available in the helicopter.
There are several different day trips available like hikes, etc that are just a fraction of the helicopter tour. You can also decide to chill in the lodge and its surroundings or go a canoe trip by yourself.
All meals during out 4 nights / 5 days trip at Canaima are included. From lunch on the first day in Canaima to breakfast on the last day.
Day 7-9: Beach Time in Morrocoy
After flying back to Caracas, we head straight to the coast! In Morrocoy National Park, it's all about relaxing and exploring gorgeous white-sand beaches and mangrove islands. We'll visit different cayos (small islands) like Cayo Sal, Cayo Sombrero, and Cayo Varadero. Sunset boat rides, wildlife refuges, and pure Caribbean vibes await!
We'll be based in the charming town of Chichiriviche, enjoying laid-back days and fresh seafood.
From lunch on the first day to breakfast on the last day, all meals on the trip to Morrocoy are included.
Day 10: Back to Caracas and Departure
Our last night in Caracas it is time to dive into the vibrant nightlife of the city before we say goodbye the next morning.
Last nights meal is not included.
Accommodation
The price for the trip is based on twin sharing rooms. That means you will be sharing with another amazing traveler from the same gender.
A great way to get to know each other. Your room buddy is not fixed, feel free to switch around. We sleep in several different hotels during the trip.
There is the possibility for a private room at an extra charge of $400 USD for the whole trip (10 nights).
Visa for Venezuela
Depending on the country of your passport you will need a visa. For most European countries as well as Australia there is visa on arrival at the Airport in Caracas and there is no visa for Venezuela needed in advance.
Americans and Canadians need a visa that can be obtained via any Venezuela embassy. The process for getting a visa via the embassy takes about 2 weeks.
Click here for the more info about the Venezuela visa policy on Wikipedia and figure out if you need a visa.
Flights
International flights to and from Venezuela are not included. Everyone is responsible for their own air travel inbound and outbound. To find your inbound and outbound flight and check the approximate prices I recommend trying Skyscanner.
Insurance
Everyone will need to take care of their own travel insurance. Travel Insurance is mandatory for this trip, if you don't already have a travel insurance that covers Venezuela I can recommend you Safetywing. Via the link you can find a quotation.
Payment
When selected for the Traveltomtom Group Trip to Venezuela we will discuss the forms of payment.
A down payment is mandatory for this trip which will have to be transfer to Traveltomtom Fz Lle bank account in the UAE to guarantee your spot. When your deposit is received you will receive a confirmation message from me.
Cancellation
In case of cancellations after down payment has been made, payments will not be refunded. The price of the group trip is based on a set amount of people and therefore I can't refund any cancellations. In case of cancellation after down payment is made please check with your travel insurance.

One year after my short group trip to Iceland to see the Northern Lights I finally hosted another group trip. This time no snow and cold weather but the opposite, only sunshine and warm temperatures.
Namibia was the perfect destination to travel to during the pandemic. A bunch of cool people that had never met before were super excited to discover a new country. No one had been to Namibia before and for many it was their first visit to Africa.
