It is not a secret that Solden is one of my favorite ski resorts in Austria. I have been snowboarding in Solden multiple times for many years. This year on my roadtrip through Austria I went snowboarding in Solden again and although I constantly shared my love for Solden with you on my social media channels I thought it was time to write down all you need to know when you go skiing in Solden, Austria.

When we say Dolomiti Superski first thing that comes up on our minds is skiing in on of the most magical landscapes: the Dolomites. The iconic mountain range in the north of Italy is a world famous tourist destination in summer and winter. Although I have never been in summer, Im blessed to have experienced this winter wonderland a couple times. Beginning of January 2019 I got the chance to discover some amazing places to visit in this massive ski area on the Dolomiti Superski Experience 2019.

My annual returning ski trip to Salzburgerland with Alpin rental was this year scheduled for mid January 2020 and I was one of the first ones to check out and review Elements Resort Zell am See. I had never thought I would go back to the snow again this winter season. In December I went snowboarding in Kaprun and after I traveled to Bangladesh and my 3 week trip to Maldives I packed my winter gear again for my annual snowboarding trip with my best friends in Italy. After Italy I only planned to go to Berlin for the biggest travel expo in the world and then book a ticket to Georgia to start my adventure on the Silk Road. Things went different though…

For more than 2,5 years I lived an island lifestyle on the most incredible beaches in Asia and Australia and hardly saw the mountains, apart from climbing Mount Rinjani in Lombok. Yes they were calling many times but I didn’t get the chance to answer those calls. Yet a couple weeks ago, right before Christmas there was an opportunity to return to Austria after 2,5 years and it was an easy decision to drive down to Kaprun and stay at Avenida 24 from Alpin Rentals.

You probably already know one of my biggest passions is snowboarding, but because of my winter holiday to Obertauern in Austria I got in touch with more than just snowboarding. I got in touch with snowkiting and snowbiking and felt in love in an instant.

The only place in Austria where you can ski 365 days a year is located in the Zillertal. At the end of this valley at around 1,300m altitude you will stumble upon the idyllic village of Tux at the foot of the majestic Hintertuxer Glacier. As part of the Zillertal 3000 lift-ticket loads of people who are celebrating their holiday in the Zillertal visit this ski resort on a day trip. The famous ski village of Mayrhofen is only a free shuttle ride away.
